You know this as well as we do, the economy is a disaster.

If you are on this page you certainly know that the above statement is true. The purpose of this page is to show you clearly the stark reality that faces most people today in 2009. The following statistics can be verified quite easily, however, you probably know them to be accurate by your own observations.

The lead article in last Autumn's newsletter "Will You Have Any Money At Retirement" pointed out that most people will have little or none. Here's the number's.

Out of every 100 people reaching the age of 65:

1 will be wealthy

9 will have income between $15,000 and $24,999

33 will be dead

57 will be "dead broke"

In other words, following the conventional system which told us, "Go to school, work hard, get good grades, and go out and get a good job," is failing miserably. As many as 90 people out of a 100 will have nothing to show for their 40 years of work. And, if you agree that an income of between $15,000 and $24,999 is nothing to write home about, then 99 out of 100 have almost nothing to show for the passage of 40 years.

Here's some more numbers.

The Social Security Administration has calculated that of the people currently receiving benefits:

45% depend on relatives

30% depend on charity

23% are still working

2% are self-sustaining

The U.S. News & World Report in it's feature "The Coming Retirement Crunch" warned: ("Baby Boomers Beware, Wake Up") that most retirement ships have precarious holes in them. Most people seriously underestimate the amount of money they will need. The bottom line:

"For each $10,000 of income per year in today's dollars that a person now at age 48 will need between age 65 and age 90, he must have $469,000 in a tax-deferred savings and retirement account when his retirement begins".

If that doesn't get your undivided attention, what else:

Personal debt (particularly the most expensive credit card debt) is at an all-time high!

The Real Estate market is in the most serious trouble in many years.

"J.O.B." opportunities are aimed at "cheaper" markets for fulfillment.

Folks, you get the point, you know what is really happening in your world.
